Сoncrete cloth: experimental side ditch strengthening

In October 2020, an experimental strengthening of roadside ditch with "Innobeton XXI" concrete cloth was performed by workers of Suburban branch on "Kazan – Borovoye Matiushino" – Pestchanye Kovaly – "Stolbistche-Atabayevo" auto road (construction site km 3+500 – km 3+530) in Laishevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan. The sample of concrete cloth was provided by Concrete weavers LLC (Belgium). The cloth is supplied rolled, 100x1 meters. 

The technology includes digging and planning of the ditch and its slopes, pinning of the cloth to the ditch slopes with metal spikes, sealing of the joints, and final binding with water. After the concrete sets, in 24 hours the ditch is ready for exploitation. 

The above technology features several advantages like
- no base course because the cloth is laid directly upon the planned soil;
- no need for machinery except for mobile crane and combined road machine with water;
- less labour cost, only 4 to 6 workers needed.
